Summary In this position, the applicant would be responsible for analyzing and executing the natural gas and power operations of Catalyst Energy, a multi-state energy marketing company. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Primary • Nominate, on a daily basis, gas and power for delivery to the company’s customers • Manage, on a daily basis, the company’s exposure to its fixed price portfolio and hedge that exposure accordingly • Manage, on a daily basis, Catalyst’s Interruptible portfolio • Track and optimize the dispatch of natural gas and power to minimize costs • On a daily basis, forecast load requirements • On a monthly basis, tie out operations with accounting • On an ad hoc basis, provide reports to various counterparties on the state of operations (storage levels, first of month forecasts, end of season targets, WACOGs) • On a seasonal basis, forecast injections and withdrawals Secondary • Provide quotes for large commercial customers • Hire and train junior staff as the company’s expansion warrants Regular Work Hours and Special Availability Will be asked to work beyond normal schedule to meet important deadlines. Will work nominal time on weekends to oversee nominations. Education College degree required. Concentration in quantitative discipline such as economics, math, engineering required, advanced degree preferred. Required Skills/Experience Must have at least 3 years within the energy industry. Experience using statistical analysis computer programs such as SAS and advanced capability with Microsoft Office Suite products such as Excel and Visual Basic is desired. Experience using industry specific applications such as Aurora XMP and VISTA will be considered a plus.
