Department Summary:
PG&E's Sourcing organization manages over $3.5 billion of annual company spend. The department provides the following services to internal clients: procurement of goods and services, strategic sourcing and cost savings, contract management, supplier relationship management, supplier diversity planning, execution and outreach, compliance management, ongoing procurement field support and management of the procure to pay cycle.
Position:
We are seeking a BUSINESS ANALYST in San Francisco, CA. This position will provide analytical, data compilation and strategic sourcing support to the Corporate Services Sourcing Organization including Professional Services and IT/Telecom spend categories. The Business Analyst will report to the Manager, Supply Chain Strategy.
Roles and Responsibilities:
40% of time SOURCING DATA COMPILATION, ANALYSIS, AND PRESENTATION: Maintain Service category databases. Perform SAP and Access queries to analyze and summarize data for presentation to decision makers. Review unit cost variances and reconcile contract deviations. Track key performance indicators and commodity indices to verify supplier increase requests, identify cost saving opportunities, elevate possible threats, and inform contract negotiations. Create new tools and processes where needed. Maintain awareness of industry and market trends through ongoing research. Maintain develop reports and management presentations.
40% of time CONTRIBUTE TO STRATEGIC SOURCING AND PROCUREMENT STRATEGIES: Support spending analysis, needs assessment, benchmarking and business case development. Identify potential cost savings, spend reduction, supplier consolidation and standardization opportunities. Assist Generation Supply Chain Portfolio Manager and Category Leads with supplier selection and recommendation activities including: qualitative and quantitative analysis, selection criteria, long and short lists, RFI and RFP development and analysis.
20% of time SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT: Monitor financial condition of suppliers to proactively identify solvency risks and recommend mitigation strategies. Track supplier quality, cost and contract performance. Define, develop, and implement supplier scorecard metrics and measurement tools.
Required:
* Bachelor's degree in business or economics (or related industry experience)
* 1+ years of experience in business or financial analysis
* Strong interpersonal skills, a team focus, and the ability to work in cross-functional teams
* Excellent quantitative skills, with demonstrated proficiency in data analysis (SAP/MS Access), modeling (MS Excel), and presenting (MS PowerPoint)
* Knowledge of basic statistics

Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of this position is to analyze current operating practices, assess existing financial and utility specific data. The position is also responsible for researching and responding to questions posed by internal customers that pertain to risk management, as well as preparing data to management.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and review changing trends in the economy and utility industry and assess the potential impacts on customer acquisition strategies, the financial condition of the customer base, and the quality of accounts receivable. Recommend strategies to take advantage of and offset any potential risk
Develop, maintain and monitor audit functions to ensure practices, processes, and procedures are in compliance with company policy guidelines. Implement required processes to identify, measure, and control risk

Manage appropriate credit securitization and mitigation tools/processes and assure consistent methodologies for assessing creditworthiness
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Finance, Accounting, or Economics
Two-plus years of prior credit risk experience with a good working knowledge of lending operations, collections, and credit risk.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the expectation to interpret results and deliver findings from the analyses to other team members as well as to upper level management
Desired exposure to using account management software and SAS programming skills

Department Overview
The Sales & Service Operations team is tasked with equipping the office and field Service & Sales (S&S) organizations with the tools, resources and information required to meet the energy efficiency, demand response and service-related needs of their assigned commercial, industrial and agricultural PG&E customers.
Position Summary
The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for supporting the performance metrics and compliance needs of Service & Sales to achieve the PG&E business priorities. To support these needs, the candidate will work closely with key leadership within and outside of the S&S organization. The candidate must be team-oriented and adapt to ever-changing challenges in an exciting, fast-paced organization.
Responsibilities
§ Configure and develop reports that evaluate and monitor the status of Service & Sales metrics that include programs (i.e., Customer Energy Efficiency (CEE), Demand Response (DR), Climate Smart (CS), Solar, etc.), customer services and compliance requirements.
§ Assist with developing performance metrics that measure the work of Service & Sales in relation to the key performance indicators established for the year.
§ Extract data from MDSS using Oracle SQL and MS Access queries and link data to Excel.
§ Analyze data results for trends and provide written interpretations and recommendations.
§ Effectively communicate with S&S leaders either one-on-one or in large groups.
§ Create communication pieces in PowerPoint, Word, Excel and MS Outlook and effectively present these pieces as appropriate.
§ Participate in compliance interpretation, communication, tracking and other related activities.
§ Gain knowledge and understanding of the energy efficiency, demand response, climate smart and solar programs and of the customer service related issues.
