Water Treatment Coordinator

Responsible for the day-to-day operation of all equipment and processes associated with water treatment including the start up, shut down procedures, and assisting with regular maintenance of all associated equipment.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree from two-year college in chemistry, or related field preferred. Minimum three years of operational experience in water treatment area is required. Knowledge of process industry and exposure to water treatment of boilers and cooling towers is preferred. Must have the ability to work well with others. Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, e.g., word processing, email, and spreadsheets is required.

QA/QC Lab Manager
BLOOMINGBURG, OH US

Implement and manage plant QA/QC program based on the ethanol industry best practices. Monitor use and inventories of laboratory chemicals and supplies; initiate re-ordering when necessary. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment. Analyze data, prepare reports, and make recommendations for improving operation or solving process related problems. Sample at various points in the production process and conduct QA/QC tests as required. Supervise QA laboratory technicians to ensure they are adequately trained and equipped. Assist with the hiring of laboratory personnel. Maintain health, safety and environmental policies and procedures. Coordinate activities with the Operations Supervisor to ensure effective participation in the QA/QC procedures by the Process Operators. Coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor to coordinate maintenance and repair work in the laboratory.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in a related scientific or technical field required. Ten years experience in a QA/QC laboratory required. Experience in a dry-mill ethanol plant preferred. Experience with implementing effective QA/QC programs required. In-depth knowledge mashing, fermentation and distillation as they relate to the ethanol production process preferred. Experience with environmental testing and reporting.

Utility Forester

Assists in determining and recording right-of-way maintenance work, contacting landowners to arrange the work, investigating and resolving their concerns, and inspecting the contractors work when completed.
Patrol right-of-way as assigned for identification of necessary line clearance. Record the work on maps and make the necessary arrangements with landowners.

Continuing education in preparation for future licensing as a Certified Arborist is encouraged and preferred.
Knowledge and safe use of pesticides required.
Courses in horticulture and/or vegetation management desirable.
Possession of Certified Pesticide Applicator's license desirable.

The Chemist, 1st year is responsible for the performance of routine chemical analyses, tests and investigations or assist in performing more complex activities with instruction and monitoring by more senior personnel, following established procedures requiring the application of fundamental scientific knowledge and skills in the safe, effective, efficient and economic accomplishment of assigned objectives. Monitor boiler water quality by use of standardized tests, operate and monitor plant sewage treatment plant, operate and monitor plant water treatment facility, monitor scrubber chemistry (Pirkey) conduct sampling and perform tasks associated with federal and state laws associated with water and wastewater.
Perform routine chemical analyses of coal, water, chemicals, air and other materials or assist in performing more complex analyses with instruction and monitoring by more senior personnel.
Outline and prepare routine test procedures as directed by supervision.
Assist in the installation and operation of test equipment.
Assist in performing special analyses and investigations and prepare written reports as required to support changing lab operating conditions.
Assist in evaluating and recommending improvements to materials used in lab operations.
Assist in the collection and evaluation of data necessary to comply with federal, state and local environmental regulations.
Assist in the administration of environmental, health and safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
Assist in the collection, preparation and analyses of coal samples,boiler water, boiler feed samples, scrubber slurry and sludge samples and environmental samples.
Maintain proper standards in the sampling, preparation and testing of all materials.

Maintain calibration of on-line instrumentation for boiler water quality monitoring and maintain records of lab instrument calibration for environmental audits.

Must be able to deliver samples to off site lab facilities.

Nuclear Health Physicist
Bridgman, MI

Responsible for performing inspections and conducting tests, determining improvement standards of plant radiological performance, and for assessing and assuring plant radiological performance and regulatory compliance of the plant Radiation Protection Program.
Evaluate Radiation Protection procedures for technical accuracy, based on regulatory requirements.
Analyze and provide direction for plant work in relation to time, skills, radiation exposure, materials, and equipment.
Analyze work schedules to establish the most efficient use of equipment, facilities, personnel resources and radiation exposure.
Analyze tasks to assure that individual and collective exposure ionizing radiation is maintained As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA).
Conduct and prepare test and investigative data; calculate test results addressing the results of investigations and tests.
Develop and promote the establishment of standard practices and procedures for the implementation of the Radiation Protection Program.
Provide health physics assistance to the plant organization as required.
Implement technical specifications and regulatory codes to maintain licensing and assure safe radiological operation.
Provide surveillance for the Radiation Protection Program for purpose of assessing the level of performance.
Fulfill the role of General Supervisor, as designated.
Support and participate in the Emergency Plan Organization, HAZMAT response organization, and Corrective Action Program activities as assigned, and in accordance with procedures and policies applicable for the assigned role.
Perform all duties, and work with other employees in a safe manner, in compliance with appropriate company safety policies and rules.
Assume responsibility for continuously upgrading knowledge and skill.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Health Physics or a related science or engineering discipline, or equivalent education and/or experience.
Four (4) years of experience in the Health Physics (or related) field in an industrial setting; two (2) years of nuclear power experience is preferred.
